Red Fish Blue Fish

Red Fish Blue Fish (RFBF) is a long-time coed team, most of whose core members played together in college and grad school in the Bay Area. The team used to play regularly (with very respectable results) in Open (non-coed) tournaments, but now that coed tournaments are more common we mostly play in them instead.

Some people have moved away and been replaced by others, and the list of players who have played with RFBF at some tournament or other is quite long. In approximate order by number of RFBF games played in the past 3 years, the team is:

Men: Tim "Scruffy" Pfafman, Phil "Phil" Price, Greg "Pooh" Wolff, Tom "TK" Kenny, Mark "Dork" Determan, Mike Goodwin, Chris Fontes, Dan Doherty, Joel Gohdes, Mike "Primus" Angelo, Jay "Otter" Vyas, Simon Verghese, Jim "Bim" Johnston, Paul "Tall Paul" Hermann, Jim Parinella, Jordan, Steve Finn, etc.

Women: Joanne "Jo" "Camel" Adamkewicz, Cecelia "CeeCee" Fairley, Devo "Devo", Juliet Lamont, Missy Wolff, Steph Robertson, Debby "DK" Kramer, Jackie Bourgeois, Linda Farley, Asako, etc.

I'll try to find a more representative photo than the one above, at some point. This photo is from the great Poultry Days tournament, held annually in the tiny town of Versailles, Ohio. RFBF attended in '97 and '98 (taking second both times, out of about 35 non-elite teams), and intends to continue to do so---it's a good way for our west- and east-coast contingents to get a chance to play together. But for at least those first two years of our attendance, it was tough to convince the west coast Fish to make the long, expensive trip, so for both of those years the team was filled out by some Fish newcomers. Making the photo below even less representative is the fact that several of the long-time fish who were in attendance had left by the time the photo was taken. So why am I including this photo? Well of course, because it shows us being presented the runner-up trophy by Miss Chick and BOTH Miss Chick runners-up! I'm the big guy in the back.

By the way, I think we absent-mindedly left the trophy on a picnic table after the tournament.
