Soccer is the big sport in Iran. (Yeah, they're supposedly big on wrestling, too, but I saw no signs of it). We saw lots of soccer games in the parks and the streets, all of them (like this one) games of "small-goal", with a waist-high goal guarded by a goalie who isn't allowed to use his hands. The participants (all male) are often wearing pretty dressy clothes, as in the photo above. We did see some boys playing soccer in shorts, as part of an organized game.
